Paris and Los Angeles have been elected as host cities of the Summer Olympic Games in 2024 and 2028 respectively by the Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), currently gathering in Lima, Peru.
In a historic double allocation aimed at ensuring the stability of the Olympic Games, the hosts of two successive Summer Olympic Games were declared at the same time.

ASOIF has supported this concept and was well represented in the Evaluation Commission assessing the two bids. In addition, the IOC is in the process of increasing the involvement of IFs in the planning and delivery of the Olympic competitions. This includes the transfer of certain technical responsibilities from the Olympic Games Organising Committees (OCOGs) to the IFs. It is planned to fully roll this out for Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.
